The Sanur Village Festival is also known for its underwater festival and competition. Underwater imaging is considered an exceptionally challenging area in photo- graphy, as it requires special equipments and techniques to become successful. The competition has attracted participants from local & international journalist & media, photographer associations, expatriates and tourists. Scheduled on 16 August the photography competition will require photographers to take pictures of a Kecak dance presented during sunrise, followed by photo shooting of young girls in the Balinese Legong Keraton costume walking along Sanur beach. The following day will be more challenging with underwater photo taking of the coral plantation. The theme imposed for this challenging task is “save the Sanur underwater”.
