Following our four consecutive successful celebrations, we are proud to announce the return of Sanur Village Festival set for August 4 – 8, 2010 taking place at Segara Ayu beach and Inna Grand Bali Beach Sanur. “Saha Nuhur” is preferred for this year’s theme of the festival that literally means “the passion to visit a holy place” and later become the name of “Sanur”. With its popularity we believe that Sanur Village Festival will attract more visitors to the island of Bali this year and more importantly to map this event in the world of tourism calendar. “We always exited to have this festival underway and make it one of the brand marks Sanur has from tourist point of view. And I personally very happy with the enthusiasm of all committee members in making this activity bigger and better every year.” Said Ida Bagus Sidharta putra MBA, chairman of the Sanur Village Festival.

We thank God for giving us another chance to present Sanur Village Festival. This year will remark our 5th event. It was started in 2006 with a very humble note and since then continues to expand in term of the quality of our event as well as the quantity of our guests. This year, we choose a very sacred theme, SAHA NUHUR, which is a symbolization of our re-connection with our heritage. We can surely expect a spectacular show this year!
This year, we have our very own classic highlights of Bazaar & Food Festival, Jazz Festival, and 6th Sanur Golf Tournament as well as our most anticipated Street Parade. The International Kite Festival and Jukung Festival would definitely sensate the spectators with their artistic creations and breathtaking races.
There will be another rejuvenate of our program, with the relocation of our Mass Yoga program to a serene Yoga Village.
With this message I would also like to thank everyone whose hard works and involvements, assistances, and participations had ensured the successfulness of our Sanur Village Festivals. I am certain that these people would continue to be the crucial pillars of this year’s festival.

Yoga Village
Yoga festival in this year’s Sanur Village Festival presents a complete image of yoga and designed to interact with all of the main programs.
Seger Oger, which was started by yoga practitioners at Sanur Beach desires to enrich the life of Sanur people through a spiritual oasis for bodily and soul exercises.
Morning & Afternoon Yoga
These activities are held daily by Seger Oger Yoga instructors or guest instructors in a morning session (06.30 – 08.00 am) and afternoon session (05.0 – 06.00 pm)
Workshop
This daily workshops are designed for families, children, beginners Yoga practitioners, those who access Yoga for healing purposes, and for fun. The workshops will be held from 8.30 – 10.00 am.
Kolaborasi yoga
This activity aims to build a creative and harmonious collaboration with other communities such as musicians, painters or dancers
Paon Yoga
This part of the Yoga village offers healthy food and drinks a la Yoga, besides provide an interactive space for the participants to share their knowledge and perspectives of “body, mind and soul”.
Merchandise
This information centre also provides merchandises and other equipment for Yoga such as mat, T-Shirt and other Seger Oger’s uniquoe crafts.
Mass Yoga
There will be a mass Yoga on the last day of festival, designed as a final performance of the festival with the participation of students, publics and Yoga practitioners and clubs.
Bonsai & Adenium Contest
This activity is a place for socialization and communication between the hobbyist of Adenium and Bonsai plants to show their works and collections, as well as to reach an achievement. Perkumpulan Penggemar Bonsai (Bonsai Enthusiasts Society) Korcab Bali Indonesia is to hold this activity as part of Sanur Village Festival 2010. These activities are in line with the mission of Tourism, Art, Culture and Environment.

Denpasar City Tour
Enjoy a city tour experience by trying out bike paths that have been built by Denpasar Authority. Sanur Village Festival 2010 provides an opportunity for the enthusiastic visitors who enjoy cycling to cycle to some of the city’s tourist destinations such as Bajra Sandi Monument, Museum Bali, Badung Puputan Field, Chess Front, and the Satria bird market.
There will be daily morning trip (leaving at 9:00) and aftrenoon trip (leaving at 14:00) arranged with maximum of of 36 persons. In addition to the healthful exercise, cycling is environmentally friendly. Hence it would also help to extend the age of the earth: an environmental rescue effort that has become one of Sanur Village Festival’s main campaigns from year to year.
Water Sport Activitiesa
Water Sport activities are a daily sight which color and energize Sanur from sunrise to sunset. Jukung (traditional Balinese fishing boats) activities, kite surfing, wind surfing, and canoeing are main water sports and tourist attractions that give positive contribution to the local economy.

Fishing Tournament
This activity is part of Sanur Village Festival 2010 to mobilize and promote the unity of the fishers. In addition, it is to bring forward the fishing activity as a hobby as well as a marine sport and tourism.
In this tournament, the contestants will only be allowed to use three techniques namely jigging, popping and trolling.
The competition is going to be held on August 7, 2010 at 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, starting from Semawang Beach and heading toward Badung Strait. The fishing boundaries would be Lebih Beach, Gianyar at the north, Nikko Hotel at the south and Lembongan and Nusa Penida islands at the eastern side.
The Weight of fish that would be counted need to be at least five kilograms (11 pounds) Pompano Gerong (Giant Trevally, Kuwe Gerong (Amberjack), Kurisi / Snapper (Ruby Snapper), Tengiri (Narrowbarred Mackerel) / Wahu (wahoo), and all species of Yellowfin Tuna, Dogtooth (Tunnus sp), Lemadang / Mahi-mahi (Dolphinfish) and Barracuda.

5R Action!
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replant, & Recovery (5R) (Action! is an important part of Sanur Village Festival 2010 . It aims to encourage the concrete actions of the people of Bali as well as all of the citizens of the earth to help extend the age of the earth.
Reduce, reuse, recycle, plant back, and restore are the five simple activities which could bring miracle on earth if carried out continuously and simultaneously.
This activity is a collaborative movement of Pemerhati Lingkungan Sanur (Sanur Environment Watch Group) and various groups included PPLH Bali, SKPPLH, Reef Check, Archipelago Ark Foundation, The Nature Conservation, Karya Segara Group, Forum Fair Trade Indonesia, WALHI Bali, Yayasan Wisnu - Creative Insan Bali, Bali Organic Association, the Bali Collaboration on Climate Change, Yayasan MACK - PT Intaran, WWF - Turtle Project, Sea Turtle Conservation Park – Serangan and Pratista Foundation.
Activities undertaken include tree planting neem Intaran / neem (Azaridachta indica); the planting of coral reefs; the release of hatchlings (young turtles); beach clean ups activities, and environmental exhibitions.
Fun Games
Fun games presents folk games that once was an inseparable part of ever become part of community life of Sanur. This program is open to the public either from local communities or foreign tourists. The spirit of the game is fun, happiness, act as “braya”, and sportsmanship.
The competition would be held with the knockout system around the festival’s arena.
The types of games are as followed:
- nyuun besek (carry the container) and ducks catch - August 5
- “tajog” run and duck catch - August 6
- gebuk bantal (pillow fight) and ducks catch - August 7
- tug of war for mothers and ladies, piglet catch, and climbing bamboo poles (August 8).
The event is interspersed with a daily quiz around the Sanur Village Festival 2010 with various gifts and merchandises. All of the winners of these fun games will be announced and awarded on the same day.
PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
The Committee of Sanur Village Festival, in collaboration with Denpasar Photography Community presents a photography contest with this year’s theme: “Sunrise in Sanur”. The object of photos would be the activities in this year’s Festival, which highlights the festival’s theme of “Saha Nuhur”; the new spirit of our heritage.
The photos need to be received at least one week after the closing date of Sanur Village Festival 2010. (15 August 2010)
Our experiences and highly professional jurors would be selecting the best photos for our exhibition. The date of this exhibition would be announced in the future. Our decision of the chosen photos would be made based on their esthetic aspect, composition, color, originality and consistency with our theme.
Three best photographers would be the rightful recipients of our awards and twenty others would be receiving prizes from us.
